Dear customers, clients, supporters, family and friends:
Unfortunately I have a sad announcement to share.
I started "Balanced Impressions" in 2017, primarily for the art aspect, as a joint venture with Dad. I would head up the business component of marketing and selling photography and prints of artwork; he would be a "contractor" producing the paintings. The technology services aspect was an add-on, a venue to provide to clients the many "techy" things I was already doing for myself in other capacities.
Just a few short months after the business was formally established and we had the initial foundations running smooth, a major rug-pull happened to us: a cancer diagnosis for Dad. We expected the next few years to be filled with artwork and photography, but instead they were filled with doctors visits and chemo treatments. As time went on, it became clear that the cancer had too much of a head start before being discovered, and eventually dad lost his battle.
With Dad no longer here to participate, much of the initial premise and goal of Balanced Impressions doesn't exist anymore. But losing Dad was only one part of the big-picture situation. My life --and the world as a whole-- is vastly different now than it was in 2017: a total of 5 close family members dying in relatively quick succession, the covid-19 pandemic, becoming a homeowner, supply chain shortages, inflation, recession. The personal and economic challenges and complications seem to never end.
The little amount of time I have each day after being done at my actual career-focused job needs to be spent at home, with the many projects here that are always behind schedule. There just realistically isn't any time available to clients of a side-hustle business.
The "last day of operations" for Balanced Impressions was Dec 31, 2022. Thank you for all the support over the last several years, professionally and personally. Prayers and wishes for better years to come, for all of us.
